HVAC Service Technician – Commercial & Industrial

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join its Mackay team. The role involves autonomous work on a wide range of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment, providing preventative maintenance, reactive service, and project support.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and reactive service on commercial mechanical systems.
• Diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and commission equipment including chillers and central plant.
• Install, overhaul, and service package units, split systems, and larger HVAC installations.
• Prepare quotes for minor works, coordinate sites, and engage with customers.
• Read plans and support small commercial installation projects.

Required profile

• Trade Qualification – Cert III Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
• ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence and Queensland Electrical or Restricted Electrical Licence.
• Current Australian driver’s licence and full working rights.
• Proven HVAC service and maintenance experience, preferably with chillers and large commercial systems.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and commissioning projects.
