Humanities and English Teacher (VCE)

About the role

Hume Anglican Grammar, a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School in Melbourne, is seeking two passionate and committed Humanities and English educators for its Donnybrook Campus. Both positions are full-time, ongoing (1.0 FTE) and start on Monday 25 January 2027. Experience teaching VCE Humanities and English is an advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare young people to lead successful and productive lives, acting as a dependable and consistent influence on their choices about the future.
• Actively engage in the co-curricular and pastoral care program.
• Plan for learning and assessment, develop learning programs, teach, assess, give feedback on student learning and report to parents.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification and current registration, or eligibility for registration, with the Victorian Institute of Teachers.
• Satisfactory and current National Police History Check and commitment to the School's Student Protection Policy.
• Understanding of and experience with education at the appropriate age group, including pastoral care, pedagogy, curriculum development and student learning.
• Understanding of the needs and safety of children with a disability, Aboriginal background and/or from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to the School's Christian ethos in the Anglican tradition and to OHS, equal opportunity and risk management principles.

Required skills

• Knowledge of concepts, structure and enquiry processes relevant to the subject area.
• Ability to work through all stages of the teaching and learning cycle, including planning, teaching, assessment, feedback and reporting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for personal growth in young people.
• Organisational and time management skills, initiative and a collaborative, resourceful approach.
