Human Resources Officer – Site Based (12-month Fixed Term)

About the role

Join Yancoal Australia as a Human Resources Officer on the Yarrabee mine site in Blackwater. This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers a hands‑on, frontline HR experience supporting supervisors and crews across the operation while developing your HR capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for supervisors and employees on site.
• Support day‑to‑day HR operations, enquiries and administrative processes.
• Assist with payroll queries and liaise with the payroll team to resolve issues.
• Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment, onboarding and employee‑lifecycle activities.
• Maintain HR systems, records and workforce data, including SuccessFactors and SAP.
• Prepare reports and support workforce planning, leveraging strong Excel skills.
• Provide Level 1 HR support and escalate complex matters as needed.
• Organise training, engagement activities and site initiatives.
• Spend time on the ground attending pre‑starts and building relationships with crews.

Required profile

• Organisationally strong with a solid understanding of HR processes.
• Ability to work independently on a remote mining site and build trusted relationships.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with supervisors, employees and leaders.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and rostered hours.
