Human Resources Officer

About the role

SGS Australia is seeking a proactive Human Resources Officer to join its HR team in a true generalist capacity. Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you will support end‑to‑end HR services and act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers across our Melbourne and Brisbane locations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist HR Business Partners and Advisors with daily HR activities.
• Prepare employment contracts, offer letters and related documentation.
• Support visa and immigration processes when required.
• Help manage employee relations matters, including investigations and grievance handling.
• Maintain HR systems, employee records and ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Facilitate performance review cycles and coordinate training sessions.
• Produce HR reports and analytics to aid decision‑making.
• Contribute to HR projects, policy updates and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in an HR or administrative role.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation.
• Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
