Human Resources Coordinator

About the role

The Human Resources Coordinator will join the HR team at Capella Sydney, supporting day‑to‑day HR operations and ensuring a smooth experience for employees and applicants. This position is highly visible and requires confidentiality, professionalism, and a passion for hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Handle employee and general enquiries via phone and email in a professional manner.
• Assist with recruitment activities, supporting selection processes in line with hotel guidelines.
• Support onboarding of new starters and maintain employee records.
• Maintain noticeboards and electronic HR platforms.
• Help compile and implement employee communications, committee updates, and engagement initiatives.
• Prepare reports, PowerPoint presentations, handouts, registers and other resources for meetings or training.

Required profile

• Tertiary education in Hospitality or Human Resources.
• 1‑2 years experience in an HR or related role; hotel operations experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Fair Work, WH&S and Workers' Compensation legislation.
• Valid work rights in Australia.
• Highly organised with strong people skills and a genuine interest in the hospitality industry.

Required skills

• Experience with the Zambion HRIS platform.
