Human Resource Lead (Construction & Water Projects)

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Human Resource Lead to manage day‑to‑day HR activities for a growing civil and engineering contractor delivering water and wastewater projects across Western Australia. You will partner directly with managers and site teams to shape people outcomes in a fast‑moving operational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own employee relations, performance management and everyday workforce matters.
• Work on‑site with teams to support operations and address HR issues.
• Run end‑to‑end recruitment, from advertising to onboarding.
• Apply Australian employment legislation, awards and company policies consistently.
• Manage visa processes and workforce compliance where required.
• Maintain core HR systems, records and reporting.

Required profile

• 5+ years’ experience in a generalist HR role with a high degree of autonomy.
• Experience supporting operational or blue‑collar workforces in construction, manufacturing or similar sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and awards.
• Confident working directly with managers on day‑to‑day workforce matters.
• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
• Practical, hands‑on and solutions‑focused attitude.
