Human Resource Business Partner

About the role

The Town of Port Hedland is seeking a Human Resource Business Partner to support leaders and employees in delivering high‑quality services to the community. You will build trusted relationships across the organisation and provide expert advice on employee and industrial relations matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic HR advice on legislation, industrial agreements, policies and employment contracts.
• Manage complex workplace issues including investigations, grievances and disciplinary processes.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment and performance management in a unionised environment.
• Drive organisational capability and high performance through proactive stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in generalist HR, especially employee and industrial relations.
• Experience delivering complex advice, dispute resolution and interpreting industrial instruments.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with staff, managers and executives and influence change.
• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, industrial relations or a related field.
• National Police Clearance, current C‑class driver’s licence and right to work in Australia.

What we offer

• Salary Level 7 – $132,595.68 per annum (incl $20,000 Port Hedland allowance).
