HSE Lead - 6 Month Max-Term

About the role

Sodexo is looking for an HSE Lead for a 6-month maximum term position to lead its Queensland team. The role reports directly to the HSE Lead (East) and supports the company's health, safety and environmental objectives. It drives on-site HSE performance by working with operational teams and clients to build a proactive safety culture, ensure compliance and reduce risk.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support HSE initiatives aligned with Sodexo and client objectives
• Guide and support operational teams and site managers across multiple locations
• Drive a safety and zero-harm culture through engagement, coaching and leadership
• Manage and mentor a team of HSE Advisors on a FIFO roster
• Conduct audits, risk assessments and incident investigations, and ensure compliance with legislation
• Advise the client and internal stakeholders on HSE matters
• Review and support implementation of operational activities in line with the HSEQ Management Plan
• Coach and mentor site leads, provide technical HSE advice, and monitor HSE performance indicators

Required profile

• Degree or relevant certification in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
• 3-5 years' experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in resources, construction or remote services
• Ability to influence safety culture at all levels
• Experience managing teams in remote FIFO environments is highly desirable
• Willingness to travel to site locations in QLD and SA as required

Required skills

• Knowledge of HSE legislation, critical risk management and root cause analysis
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and report writing skills
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
