HR Officer – Mining Operations

About the role

We are looking for a proactive HR Officer to support our long‑standing mining contracts in Central Queensland. Reporting to the Senior HR Advisor, you will work across the Goonyella and Blackwater sites, helping to deliver a seamless employee experience throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue standard employee correspondence as directed by the Senior HR Advisor.
• Support project and office teams with onboarding, investigations, disciplinary actions, talent and succession processes, and HR record maintenance.
• Set up and maintain reporting dashboards for leadership.
• Collaborate on culture initiatives for the mining projects.
• Travel to Queensland project sites as required.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline (preferred).
• At least 2 years of experience in an HR administration or officer role.
• Experience using HR systems such as SAP.
• Strong computer literacy, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Self‑driven, proactive and innovative mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
