HR Business Partner – HR Consultancy

About the role

A growing HR consultancy supporting small-to-medium businesses across Australia is seeking an HR Business Partner to join its team. The firm combines HR technology with practical, people-first advisory support and acts as the outsourced HR function for clients in construction, manufacturing, retail, hospitality and other high-volume employment relations environments. The role reports to a senior HR leader and manages a portfolio of clients, mostly through email-based queries.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR and employment relations advice across performance, misconduct, investigations, warnings and terminations
• Interpret and apply modern awards and enterprise agreements
• Draft and review employment contracts, letters and HR documentation
• Support HR administration including onboarding, offboarding, policy development and employee record management
• Manage client queries within agreed service levels and build strong relationships with client leaders
• Identify emerging issues and contribute to proactive HR solutions
• Support the adoption of internal HR systems and technology tools

Required profile

• 2-3+ years of HR advisory experience, ideally in employment relations-heavy environments
• Strong knowledge of modern awards, enterprise agreements and Fair Work processes
• Demonstrated experience managing performance, misconduct and termination matters
• Backgrounds typically suited: retail, hospitality, construction, manufacturing or outsourced HR consulting

What we offer

• Base salary of $110k-$120k plus superannuation
• Hybrid arrangement: 2-3 days in Surry Hills, the rest working from home
