About the role

The Home Economics Assistant supports teachers across Food, Textiles and Child Development subjects by preparing resources and maintaining the learning environment. This position is essential for smooth classroom operations and hands‑on student activities.

Key responsibilities

• Weigh, measure and distribute food for practical Food classes.
• Cut, organise and prepare fabrics for Textiles and Child Development lessons.
• Maintain equipment, materials and stocked resources for all three subject areas.
• Clean classrooms and resource areas consistently throughout the workday.
• Assist with food ordering, storage requirements and uphold food hygiene and safety protocols.

Required profile

• Proactive and positive attitude with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Commitment to follow established processes, including food safety and classroom protocols.
