Home Care Worker - Toowoomba

About the role

Silverchain is looking for a Home Care Worker to support older community members in Toowoomba and surrounding suburbs (Ballard, Charlton, Harristown, Westbrook etc.) so they can stay in their own homes and improve their wellbeing. No Certificate III is required; on-the-job experience of at least 6 months is enough.

Key responsibilities

• Provide home help services: general housekeeping, cleaning, mopping and vacuuming, laundry, meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Provide personal care: helping clients get out of bed, shower and dress, assisting with medication, mobility and therapy goals, and supporting clients with high care needs such as dementia.
• Offer social and emotional support and arrange transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Help family carers take a break.

Required profile

• Interest in community or aged care, with 3 to 6 months of previous experience in a similar role.
• A valid Australian driver's licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and solve everyday problems, while building positive relationships with clients and their families.

What we offer

• Casual role at award rate of $43.03 per hour plus superannuation and paid kilometres, with a view to permanent part-time positions (no weekends or sleepovers).
