Home Care Worker

About the role

GRAICCHS Elmo, an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service operating in Gladstone and the wider Central Queensland region, is hiring a Home Care Worker. The Aged Care team coordinates and provides in-home care and out-of-home day activity services to eligible clients, working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the local community and key stakeholders to give consumers a coordinated, consumer-directed care service focused on helping older people stay in their homes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide assistance to clients so they can stay in their home longer
• Help with shopping, meal preparation and cleaning
• Deliver personal care according to each client's care plan
• Document clients' progress

Required profile

• A passion and commitment to making a difference in people's lives
• Valid driver's licence and full comprehensive car insurance
• Current Blue Card, or willingness to apply for one
• First Aid certificate and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain them
• Physical ability to perform the tasks required
• Certificate III in Community Services, Aged Care or Disability Services, or willingness to obtain it
• Federal police check
