Helper – Mechanical Maintenance

About the role

The Helper performs routine servicing and lubrication of mechanical equipment, carries out minor to moderately complex mechanical work, and assists mechanics with journey‑level maintenance and repair tasks on power generation equipment. The role involves extensive travel and may require work on holidays, weekends, and overtime.

Key responsibilities

• Lubricate equipment according to established procedures and charts.
• Check and change oil, oil filters, air filters, and fuel systems; service buses and other vehicles.
• Replace hoses, belts, water pumps, batteries and similar parts.
• Inspect fan belts, hoses, wiper blades, radiators, batteries, water and antifreeze levels.
• Check tire pressure, repair or replace flat tires as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed and future service needs.
• Clean and maintain shop facilities and equipment.
• Assist mechanics with moderate to complex overhaul and repair work on power equipment.
• Use testing equipment such as ammeters, voltmeters, and gauges to diagnose malfunctions.
• Travel extensively, both internationally and domestically.
• Work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.

Required profile

• High school diploma or general education degree preferred.
• At least one year of experience in repair and maintenance of a variety of mechanical equipment.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
• Availability to work holidays, weekends and overtime.

Required skills

• Use of ammeters, voltmeters and gauges for equipment testing.
• Mechanical equipment maintenance and lubrication procedures.
• Knowledge of automotive, construction and maintenance equipment parts.
• Proficiency with basic hand and power tools.
