Head Vet Nurse - Emergency & Critical Care

About the role

The Animal Emergency Centre Midland, run by Greencross Pet Wellness Company, offers emergency and critical care for pets in a modern facility with a broad and complex referral caseload. It is seeking a Head Vet Nurse for a part-time position, combining clinical leadership with administration and management of the emergency and critical care nursing team.

Key responsibilities

• Share responsibility for administering and managing the emergency and critical care nursing team
• Lead by example and provide strong clinical leadership on the floor
• Support and mentor the nursing team, helping them grow their skills and confidence
• Deliver exceptional patient care across complex emergency and critical care cases
• Drive clinical standards, operational excellence and continuous improvement
• Foster a positive, supportive and collaborative workplace culture
• Take part in all aspects of workflow and contribute to education, training and professional development

Required profile

• Cert IV or above qualification
• Experienced and highly capable veterinary nurse
• Strong background in emergency and/or critical care nursing
• Confident working in a fast-paced, complex emergency environment
• Enjoys mentoring, coaching and developing others
• Communicates with authenticity, compassion and confidence
