Head of Learning Area – Mathematics

About the role

Coodanup College is seeking a dynamic Head of Learning Area – Mathematics to join its senior leadership team. This permanent, full‑time position starts in Term 4, 2026 and focuses on instructional leadership, curriculum development and improving student outcomes across Years 7‑12.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the mathematics teaching team to deliver high‑impact instruction.
• Develop, review and implement an engaging, inclusive mathematics curriculum.
• Model effective teaching practices and mentor staff in the Teaching for Impact framework.
• Contribute to the school’s strategic and operational planning.
• Promote Positive Behaviour Support values throughout the learning environment.
• Collaborate with senior leaders on school‑wide initiatives and innovation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in mathematics teaching and curriculum leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education and supporting diverse learner needs.
• Understanding of Teaching for Impact and WA Positive Behaviour Support is desirable.
