Hand Therapist - Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist

About the role

Apricus Health is recruiting an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with at least one year of hand therapy experience to join its established Hand Therapy team in Townsville, Queensland. The role is based mainly at the central Pimlico clinic, with a varied hand and upper limb caseload, and is open to developing clinicians as well as experienced ones seeking a senior position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied hand and upper limb caseload including sports and workplace injuries, fracture management, pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation, nerve conditions, open trauma, wounds, scars and burns, neurological upper limb rehabilitation, and chronic conditions such as arthritis and cumulative trauma.
• Work closely with surgeons, GPs and other allied health professionals to deliver coordinated care.
• Develop expertise in custom orthosis fabrication, advanced treatment modalities and complex upper limb rehabilitation.
• Senior clinicians may mentor, contribute to clinical education and service development, and may work from the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys Centre of Excellence.

Required profile

• Qualified Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with current AHPRA registration.
• At least one year of clinical experience in hand therapy; senior clinicians are welcomed.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification, NDIS Worker Screening clearance and a current driver's licence.
• Valid Australian working rights; applicants must not come through a recruitment agency.
