Gym Floor Officer

About the role

Lismore City Council is looking for a Gym Floor Officer to work closely with the Gym and Fitness Coordinator and help create a positive, energetic and inclusive gym environment. You will support members on their fitness journey, from inductions to personalised programs and training sessions. This is a permanent part-time position of 25 hours per week, with additional hours available as they arise.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome and support members on the gym floor
• Conduct member inductions and pre-exercise screenings
• Develop personalised gym programs and complete program reviews
• Provide personal training sessions when required
• Promote gym programs, services and seasonal campaigns
• Deliver excellent customer service and a friendly, motivating atmosphere

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Fitness, or an equivalent qualification in fitness, exercise science, sport, recreation, physical education or a related field
• First Aid Certificate with current CPR
• Working with Children Check (applicant responsible for obtaining it before starting)
• Ability to motivate and engage people of all fitness levels, and to give safe, effective exercise instruction and technique correction
