Group Head of Internal Audit

About the role

Collins Foods, one of Australia's leading restaurant operators and the largest KFC franchisee in Australia, is seeking an experienced Group Head of Internal Audit to lead its Internal Audit function. The role provides independent assurance and insight to the Audit & Risk Committee, the Executive Leadership Team and management across the Group, reporting to the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee and administratively to the CEO.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the Group's risk-based Internal Audit Plan.
• Lead and oversee internal audit reviews across operational, financial, safety, compliance and technology areas.
• Build trusted relationships with senior executives and business leaders.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team and the Audit & Risk Committee.
• Evaluate governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Leverage data analytics to improve audit effectiveness and spot emerging risks.
• Monitor remediation and drive sustainable control improvements.
• Lead special investigations and assurance projects as required.
• Support business transformation, growth initiatives and organisational change.

Required profile

• 10+ years in internal audit, external audit, risk or assurance roles.
• Experience in large, complex or listed organisations, ideally with Big 4 background.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk management and internal control frameworks.
• Experience engaging with Boards, Audit Committees, executives, regulators and external auditors.
• Professional qualifications such as CA or CIA.

Required skills

• Exposure to operational, financial, compliance and technology auditing.
• Strong analytical ability, including data-driven assessment of risk and controls.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
