Group Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant (Part‑time)

About the role

Kervale is looking for an experienced Group Bookkeeper / Assistant Accountant to join its finance team on a part‑time basis. You will work autonomously across multiple entities, handling end‑to‑end bookkeeping, reporting and compliance while collaborating closely with the Financial Manager and external accountants.

Key responsibilities

• Full end‑to‑end bookkeeping and transaction processing for several entities.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, payments, authorisations and reconciliations.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Liaise with external accountants on payroll administration and compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and month‑end close.
• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis.
• Produce accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Maintain rolling cash‑flow forecasts and track actuals against plan.
• Assist with BAS, FBT, PAYGW, superannuation and payroll data processing.
• Support project‑level cost tracking and profitability analysis.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Proven ability to work independently with a high level of trust.
• Comfortable handling multiple entities and complex financial processes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
