Ground Training Instructor – Senso

About the role

The Senso Ground Training Instructor will deliver and coordinate Navy aircrew training within the Thales Australia Joint Helicopter School. The role combines classroom instruction, computer‑based training and hands‑on use of tactical part‑task trainers to support veteran learners in a ground‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate delivery of the Mission Sensor Employment Course (MSEC) for Navy aircrewmen.
• Assist with training and assessment events for Synthetic Training Devices (STD).
• Supervise, mentor and monitor trainee performance throughout the programme.
• Develop and conduct training evaluation and validation activities.
• Review curricula and recommend improvements for training efficiency.
• Update instructor guides, student guides, simulation scenarios and reference materials in line with current directives.
• Perform training needs analysis and support broader Thales business objectives.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship to obtain Defence Security Clearance (NV1) and meet ITAR eligibility.
• Experience delivering technical or defence‑related training.
• Ability to work with a diverse veteran community and adapt to varied personal circumstances.

Required skills

• Computer Based Training (CBT) delivery.
• Use of Tactical Part Task Trainers.
• Operation of Synthetic Training Devices (STD).
• Curriculum development and instructional design.
• Training evaluation and validation techniques.
