Grooming Assistant and Daycare Attendant

About the role

Centennial Bark is seeking an enthusiastic Grooming Assistant and Daycare Attendant to join its busy salon and daycare in Waterloo, Sydney. The role blends hands‑on grooming support with supervising dogs in a lively daycare environment, perfect for someone who loves dogs and enjoys a fast‑paced workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, dry and brush dogs in preparation for grooming.
• Assist the lead groomer with bathing, coat preparation, nail clipping and ear cleaning.
• Supervise and care for dogs attending daycare, ensuring safe group play.
• Monitor dog behaviour and intervene when necessary.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the salon and daycare area.
• Walk up to four dogs at a time for a minimum of 45 minutes.
• Provide friendly customer service at drop‑off and pick‑up.
• Help with bookings, administration and daily operational tasks.

Required profile

• Reliable, energetic and genuinely passionate about working with dogs.
• Previous professional experience washing dogs in a grooming salon (essential).
• Experience in dog daycare, boarding or animal care is highly regarded.
• Confidence handling dogs of various breeds, sizes and temperaments.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a close‑knit team.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, safe workplace.
