Graduate Tax Accountant

About the role

The Graduate Tax Accountant position is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Bendigo, VIC. Working under senior accountants, you will support tax preparation and compliance for a variety of client types while developing technical expertise and client communication skills.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tax returns and supporting schedules for small businesses, individuals, estates and self‑managed superannuation funds.
• Draft and review workpapers, assist in preparing financial statements and maintain accurate client records.
• Research tax issues, communicate with clients to gather information and clarify queries.
• Support business services and external CFO activities as required.

Required profile

• Foundational knowledge of tax compliance and preparation with a strong interest in tax across client types.
• Understanding of financial statement preparation, bookkeeping, reconciliations and basic financial analysis.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to explain financial and tax concepts clearly.
• Organisational and time‑management ability to handle multiple client files and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in common accounting and tax software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
