Graduate Small Animal Veterinarian

About the role

Gympie Veterinary Services, part of Apiam Animal Health, is seeking a new graduate Small Animal Veterinarian to join their full‑time, 100% companion‑animal team starting early 2027. You will work in a modern regional practice with a broad caseload and supportive mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Provide routine and emergency veterinary care for small animals, including desexings, dentals, medical work‑ups and surgeries.
• Utilise the clinic’s advanced diagnostic equipment such as digital X‑ray, ultrasound, dental units and in‑house laboratory machines.
• Participate in on‑call duties shared among staff, with teletriage support.

Required profile

• Recent veterinary graduate passionate about regional practice and community‑focused care.
• Enthusiastic about working in a close‑knit team, seeking mentorship and willing to ask for assistance.
• Strong communication skills for client interactions, including difficult conversations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with digital X‑ray imaging.
• Experience operating ultrasound equipment.
• Competence in advanced dental procedures.
• Ability to use in‑house laboratory machines for diagnostics.
