Graduate Pricing Analyst

About the role

Strait Link, which provides daily sea freight between Port Melbourne and Port Burnie, is looking for a Graduate Pricing Analyst to join its Commercial Pricing team in Port Melbourne. The role suits a recent graduate or early-career professional with strong analytical skills and a passion for data, commercial decision-making and problem-solving. You will work closely with the Pricing Manager and collaborate with Sales, Operations and Finance on pricing analysis, cost modelling, tenders, customer reviews and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Support pricing analysis for tenders, customer reviews, new business opportunities and contract renewals.
• Help develop and maintain pricing models, templates and reporting tools.
• Analyse costs, volumes, margins and key operational metrics to support commercial decisions.
• Gather, validate and interpret data from multiple business systems.
• Monitor revenue, margin and volume trends to identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare reports, insights and pricing recommendations for stakeholders.
• Support pricing governance through documentation, approvals and version control.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, including automation of pricing processes and reporting.
• Build an understanding of logistics operations, freight services and customer pricing structures.

Required profile

• Completed or near-completed tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
• Naturally curious, analytical and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable communicating with stakeholders across the business.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to organise and present data.
• Desirable: exposure to pricing, commercial analysis, finance, logistics or supply chain; experience modelling or reporting in Excel; exposure to Power BI, Power Query, SQL, D365 or similar tools.
