Graduate Full Stack Developer – Backend Focus

About the role

Perkx is launching a new app and needs a graduate developer to help build and scale the backend from day one. You will work in a fast‑moving pre‑launch startup environment while receiving mentorship to kick‑start your career.

Key responsibilities

• Own the backend stack, including PostgreSQL databases and serverless functions for subscriptions, payments, scheduled jobs and third‑party integrations.
• Implement end‑to‑end Stripe subscription flows, handling trials, plan changes, cancellations and related webhooks.
• Design and maintain database schemas, migrations, row‑level security policies and business‑logic functions.
• Build time‑sensitive jobs, state machines and concurrency‑safe logic.
• Integrate with email, push‑notification and other external providers, ensuring reliable webhook processing.
• Develop analytics aggregation pipelines that power live reporting dashboards.
• Occasionally work across Flutter apps to see backend changes through to the UI.

Required profile

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a demonstrable portfolio of shipped projects.
• Strong SQL skills – comfortable writing multi‑table joins, aggregations, transactions and indexes.
• Working knowledge of TypeScript or JavaScript sufficient to write and debug server‑side code.
• Clear written communication and a meticulous attention to detail, especially when handling financial data.
