Graduate Engineer – Urban Infrastructure

About the role

Join SMEC’s Urban Infrastructure team in Parramatta as a Graduate Engineer and contribute to major rail and metro projects. You will be part of a two‑year Graduate Development Program that combines hands‑on project work with structured learning, mentoring and exposure across disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Support design development, including preparation of drawings, 3‑D models and technical documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis for roads, drainage and structures under senior guidance.
• Participate in site visits and inspections to understand how designs are implemented on live projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design inputs and meet project delivery milestones.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Motivated problem‑solver eager to work on real‑world infrastructure projects.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience using Civil 3D (or similar design tools).
• Familiarity with 12D or comparable software is advantageous.
