Graduate Engineer – Geotechnical & Tunnel Engineering

About the role

Join SMEC as a Graduate Engineer in Geotechnical & Tunnel Engineering and be part of a two‑year Graduate Development Program. You will work on major infrastructure projects, gaining hands‑on experience while receiving structured learning, mentoring and exposure across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of geotechnical engineering projects from day one.
• Assist with site investigations, data interpretation and technical reporting.
• Conduct geotechnical analysis, including soil and rock assessments, under senior guidance.
• Participate in site visits and ground investigations to understand subsurface conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical inputs into project delivery.
• Learn and apply industry standards, tools and best practices on the job.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proactive, adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
