Graduate Engineer – Building Management Systems

About the role

Join Johnson Controls' NSW Systems team as a Graduate Engineer and gain hands‑on experience designing, programming, testing, commissioning and delivering Building Management and Control Systems (BMCS). You will work alongside experienced engineers on a variety of smart‑building projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design, programming, testing and commissioning of BMCS to meet customer specifications and Johnson Controls standards.
• Support development and implementation of control strategies for new and existing installations.
• Help create graphical user interfaces and system visualisations.
• Participate in software testing and validation activities.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to troubleshoot issues and deliver effective solutions.
• Contribute to project documentation, design reviews and quality assurance processes.
• Support project delivery to ensure safety, timeliness and budget compliance.
• Provide technical input for pre‑sales, system designs, project layouts and proposals.

Required profile

• Recently completed or currently completing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronic, Control Systems or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong interest in building automation, smart buildings, HVAC controls or industrial automation.
• Basic understanding of control systems, instrumentation, networking or software programming principles.
• Full Australian working rights.
