Graduate Civil/Structural Engineer

About the role

A graduate civil and structural engineer position in Newcastle, NSW, working on structural, civil and stormwater design for residential, commercial and industrial developments. The graduate is closely mentored by senior engineers and exposed to a broad range of disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare causation reports on defects and damage to achieve client satisfaction
• Prepare scope of works and keep billings up to date
• Perform site inspections and liaise with all stakeholders
• Perform structural design of timber, steel and concrete structures and associated drafting
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail in all technical aspects related to buildings
• Take part in continued professional development and industry association activities

Required profile

• On track to complete a Civil/Structural Engineering degree in 2025
• Passion for engineering and keen to learn and be mentored
• Strong technical report writing skills and excellent attention to detail
• High level of English writing and structural analytical skills highly regarded

Required skills

• Ability to use AutoCAD
• Structural behaviour instinct
