General Manager Supply Chain

About the role

The General Manager, Supply Chain (AU) is a senior leadership position responsible for delivering safe, efficient and cost‑effective transport and warehousing solutions for Inghams and its customers. The role can be based at the Macquarie Park head office or near a distribution centre in Queensland, Victoria or South Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction and coaching to Distribution Centre Managers and the National Weigh Label Room Manager across Australia.
• Ensure safety, regulatory and customer compliance at all warehousing and labelling facilities.
• Drive efficient operation within budget while meeting customer service level (CSL) targets.
• Lead the transport function, overseeing freight‑in, freight‑out and farming logistics, and manage relationships with transport providers.
• Conduct performance and compliance reviews of transport suppliers and negotiate commercial transport contracts.
• Hold full P&L responsibility for the Supply Chain budget and develop annual operational plans.
• Strategically manage the nationwide network to deliver the most cost‑effective solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, Economics or related field (MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification highly regarded).
• 5‑15 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, logistics or general management, preferably in short‑shelf‑life FMCG, agribusiness or related sectors.
• Proven experience managing complex, national supply chains with multiple customers.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and program‑change management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across matrix organisations and engage with C‑suite stakeholders.
• Experience working in a heavily unionised environment with multiple enterprise agreements.
