General Manager - Registered Training Organisation

About the role

Health Industry Training is a nationally accredited Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering vocational education in the health industry. It is seeking a full-time, on-site General Manager based in Aspley, QLD, to oversee the day-to-day operations of the organisation. The role works closely with the Executive Director and supports students who often balance study with work and family.

Key responsibilities

• Manage staff across training and administration and ensure quality delivery of accredited programs
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
• Develop and implement operational plans, monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in student support, program coordination and stakeholder engagement
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to align goals, manage budgets and resources and build a student-centred culture
• Build relationships with employers and industry partners and support strategic initiatives
• Manage IT equipment, software and the student management system

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership and people management, including supervising multidisciplinary teams
• Experience in the VET or RTO sector, with knowledge of regulatory frameworks, compliance and quality assurance
• Strong operations and organisational management, including planning, budgeting and resource allocation
• Excellent communication with students, employers, industry partners and regulators
• Proven student or client support, with empathy and problem-solving
• Tertiary qualification in business management, education or a related field, or equivalent senior management experience
