GCP Data Engineer – Data Modelling

About the role

Join the Insignia Financials Data Engineering team as a GCP Data Engineer/Modeller. You will work on an enterprise‑wide data platform built on Google Cloud, designing analytical data structures that support reporting, analytics and future AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse complex source systems to understand data structures, semantics and quality, then map them into enterprise and analytical data models.
• Design, develop and refine analytical data structures (facts, dimensions, grain) that enable reliable reporting and analytics.
• Build and maintain data pipelines that ingest, transform and integrate data across multiple platforms, using workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Composer.
• Optimise pipelines for performance, scalability and operational efficiency while documenting data lineage and modelling decisions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytical data modelling and transformation design.
• Strong knowledge of analytical modelling concepts, including facts, dimensions, grain and historical data patterns.
• Experience with Data Vault modelling and enterprise data‑modelling frameworks.
• Proven ability to translate complex source systems into scalable data solutions.

Required skills

• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – especially BigQuery.
• Advanced SQL and complex transformation logic.
• Data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Google Cloud Composer.
• Data Vault modelling and analytical data‑modelling techniques.
