Gardener

About the role

St Kevin's College, an independent Catholic boys' school, is seeking a qualified and experienced Gardener to join its Grounds team on a full-time ongoing basis. The role works with the team to prepare, maintain and present the college ovals, gardens and grounds across all campuses, based at the Heyington Campus. It also assists with the setup of sports ovals and cricket wicket preparation. The position starts late November, with hours 6:45am to 3:15pm and 1 RDO per month.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the Grounds team to prepare, maintain and present the college ovals, gardens and grounds across all campuses
• Assist with the setup of sports ovals and cricket wicket preparation

Required profile

• Certificate 3 in Horticulture (essential)
• Valid driver's licence (essential)
• Horticulture experience in gardens
• Experience as a gardener in a school or similar environment
• Right to work in Australia, WWCC, National Police Check and First Aid Certificate

Required skills

• Confident use of garden maintenance equipment such as blowers, hedge trimmers and ride-on vehicles
• Effective communication skills
