Full-Time Cook (Two Positions Available)

About the role

Gun Cotton Coffee is a busy, established hospitality venue in Yandina on the Sunshine Coast, with seating for about 180 guests, a substantial food menu, specialty coffee and catering for private functions and evening events. It is seeking two experienced and motivated cooks to join its kitchen team. Position 1 is Saturday to Wednesday with days off Thursday and Friday; Position 2 is Wednesday to Sunday with days off Monday and Tuesday. Both positions are permanent full-time, 38 hours per week, at $80,000 per year plus superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes according to the menu and quality standards.
• Prepare ingredients and carry out food preparation for daily service.
• Follow recipe cards for house-made sauces, which are made in large quantities.
• Maintain consistency in food quality, portion sizes and presentation.
• Assist with catering preparation and cooking for functions and special events.
• Monitor food safety, hygiene and temperature controls.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen.
• Assist with stock rotation, ingredient management and minimising food waste.
• Work with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during busy periods.

Required profile

• Relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience cooking meals in a commercial kitchen.
• Knowledge of food safety procedures and safe food handling.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume hospitality environment.
• Strong teamwork, organisation and time-management skills.
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
