Frontend Software Engineer – LIVE

About the role

We are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to join TikTok LIVE’s revenue engineering team in Sydney. You will help design and build the core revenue ecosystem that powers gifting and other monetisation features for millions of live streamers and viewers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain core business modules for TikTok LIVE, ensuring stability, scalability and a seamless user experience.
• Lead front‑end technology selection, drive architectural improvements and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Provide full‑stack support, including database optimisation, API development and cloud‑native/micro‑service integration.
• Manage agile development cycles, build and optimise CI/CD pipelines and engineering toolchains.
• Conduct post‑project reviews, share technical insights and champion innovation through open‑source contributions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience developing frontend web applications, with a strong grasp of both front‑end and back‑end technologies.
• Proven expertise in agile development, progress control and performance optimisation.
• Ability to independently design interfaces, optimise databases and work with cloud‑native and micro‑service architectures.
• Track record of technical leadership, architectural decision‑making and knowledge‑sharing within a team.
