Front Office Receptionist / All-Rounder – Remote Tasmania

About the role

A remote tourism property in Tasmania, offering cabin accommodation, camping, a restaurant, cruises and tours, is seeking a casual front office receptionist to start in early November 2026. The role is predominantly based at reception, managing reservations and guest arrivals, and includes helping with food and beverage service and housekeeping when needed. The contract runs through to the end of April 2027, with possible extension into May or June, and free accommodation in a shared staff house is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Manage reservations, guest arrivals and departures, and respond to guest enquiries
• Handle cash, process payments and complete general reception duties
• Assist with restaurant and bar operations and food and beverage service during busy periods
• Help with cleaning and servicing accommodation, including making beds, cleaning bathrooms and supporting laundry
• Work collaboratively across departments and adapt to changing priorities

Required profile

• Previous front office reception experience, ideally in a hotel, resort or tourism property
• Current RSA certificate, to be supplied before starting
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional approach to guest service
• Flexibility to help with food and beverage and housekeeping, and a commitment to the contract until April 2027
• Comfortable living in a remote location with no mobile reception and limited internet

Required skills

• Experience using RMS or a similar property management and reservation system

• Casual pay: $33.05 per hour Monday to Friday, $39.66 Saturday, $46.27 Sunday, $66.10 public holidays
