Front End Developer & UI Designer

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Front End Developer who also works as a UI Designer. The role combines front‑end engineering with user‑interface design to create intuitive, accessible interfaces for defence and national‑security projects. You will work in multidisciplinary teams, using rapid prototyping, testing and implementation to deliver high‑quality product improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new features, user flows, and front‑end components.
• Define user‑centric designs, iterate based on feedback, and produce high‑fidelity prototypes.
• Plan and conduct UX evaluations to ensure usability and accessibility standards are met.
• Implement UI components using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with researchers, designers and back‑end engineers, advocating for user‑focused solutions and coaching on front‑end best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering front‑end code and UI designs in a collaborative environment.
• Strong understanding of user‑centred design principles and accessibility guidelines.
• Ability to translate research findings into design improvements and to communicate design intent clearly.
