Food & Beverage Expert – Banquets

About the role

LUMINA, a new luxury event space at The Tasman, is looking for a Food & Beverage Expert to join its Banquets & Events team. You will help deliver seamless, high‑end service for conferences, weddings, gala dinners and other bespoke events, ensuring every guest experience reflects the hotel’s award‑winning reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide attentive food and beverage service during conferences, meetings, weddings and special events.
• Set up, reset and pack down event spaces according to event orders and brand standards.
• Serve plated meals, buffets, cocktails and beverages efficiently and professionally.
• Anticipate guest needs and deliver personalised, warm service throughout each event.
• Maintain event spaces to the highest standard before, during and after service.
• Communicate closely with the Banquet Kitchen and Events team to ensure smooth execution.
• Assist with room turns and event transitions within required timeframes.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene and responsible service of alcohol standards.
• Support stock replenishment and keep banquet service areas and equipment clean.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a banquet, events or food‑and‑beverage role within a hotel or premium hospitality environment.
• Proven experience delivering service for conferences, weddings, corporate functions or large‑scale events.
• Strong understanding of banquet service sequences and event operations.
• Physically able to lift and carry tables, chairs and trays of glassware.
• Professional, well‑presented and guest‑focused attitude.
• Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate and full working rights in Australia.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Experience using POS systems.
