Float Veterinary Nurse - ARH Canberra

About the role

Greencross Pet Wellness is looking for an experienced, confident and adaptable Float Nurse for its Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) Canberra. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, in 8-hour shifts. As a Float Nurse you support across the hospital, stepping into different departments and working alongside nursing teams wherever your skills are needed.

Key responsibilities

• Care for hospitalised patients
• Assist the surgical team and monitor anaesthetics
• Support the emergency team when things get busy
• Work flexibly across departments, wherever support is needed

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a Veterinary Nurse in Emergency/Referral or a busy general practice
• Ability to work across different areas of a busy hospital and under pressure
• Strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Passion for patient care and willingness to work wherever support is needed
