Fire Engineer

About the role

Arup is seeking a Fire Engineer to join its multidisciplinary team and deliver integrated fire safety solutions across complex projects. You will work closely with designers, engineers and external stakeholders to ensure fire engineering designs meet client expectations and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality fire engineering input from concept design through to project completion.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to develop coordinated, practical design solutions.
• Manage projects autonomously, ensuring delivery within agreed timelines, budget and financial targets.
• Prepare and review detailed technical reports, analyses and documentation to maintain high quality standards.
• Support business development through fee proposals, work‑winning activities and client relationship building.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering degree (Fire Engineering or similar) with strong industry experience in a consulting environment.
• Proven ability to manage projects end‑to‑end and deliver complex technical solutions with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, able to present technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Professional accreditation (or working towards chartership) and a commitment to quality, integrity and continuous improvement.
