Financial Controller

About the role

This is an opportunity to join Uniting as Financial Controller and lead the organisation's financial accounting function. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll provide strategic leadership across financial reporting, statutory compliance, treasury, controls and finance systems while ensuring financial integrity across a large and complex organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead statutory reporting, taxation compliance and preparation of annual financial statements.
• Ensure strong financial controls, governance and audit outcomes.
• Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to Executive and Board stakeholders.
• Drive finance systems optimisation, automation and process improvement initiatives.
• Support long‑term financial sustainability through effective cash flow, treasury and balance‑sheet management.
• Build and develop a high‑performing finance team through coaching and leadership.

Required profile

• CPA, CA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Extensive experience in senior financial accounting leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, statutory reporting and compliance.
• Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining robust financial controls.
• Proven ability to lead teams and drive finance process and systems improvements.
