Financial Controller

About the role

Orde Financial is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead financial control, reporting and finance operations. Reporting to the CFO, you will ensure the integrity of financial information, a robust control environment and timely delivery of management, board and regulatory reports.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close, delivering accurate financial results on schedule.
• Prepare and review management, board, statutory and regulatory reporting with clear performance analysis.
• Design and maintain a strong financial control framework, including balance‑sheet governance, reconciliations and delegations.
• Oversee statutory accounts, external audit, tax compliance and resolve regulatory finance issues promptly.
• Lead core finance operations such as general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, cash management and intercompany accounting.
• Partner with the CFO on budgets, forecasts, scenario analysis and strategic financial decisions.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with extensive senior financial control or reporting experience.
• Proven ability to lead and develop high‑performing finance teams in a fast‑growth, regulated environment.
• Strong commercial judgement and experience influencing senior executives while maintaining independence.
• Demonstrated success managing competing priorities, critical deadlines and complex month‑end closes.

Required skills

• CA/CPA qualification.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems and finance automation.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards.
