Financial Controller

About the role

This is a senior finance position within a leading global financial services organisation. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own the financial control function, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance while driving governance and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead statutory reporting for Australian and New Zealand entities in line with IFRS and local regulations.
• Own regulatory reporting, delivering accurate and timely submissions.
• Act as the technical accounting lead, advising on complex accounting matters and new standards.
• Oversee month‑end close, guaranteeing high‑quality financial reporting and strong controls.
• Manage internal and external audit processes and coordinate with auditors.
• Partner with the Tax Manager on tax reporting and compliance.
• Lead finance operations across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, managing onshore and offshore teams.
• Drive finance transformation initiatives to improve systems, processes and controls.
• Provide commercial insights to senior stakeholders and support key business initiatives.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Significant experience in financial control within a regulated financial services environment.
• Proven track record in statutory and regulatory reporting.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS.
• Experience leading month‑end, audit and finance transformation activities.
• Previous leadership experience managing finance teams.
