Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a passionate and professional Financial Controller to lead a finance team of six within a fast‑growing global electrical retailer expanding its Australian operations. Reporting to the Global UK‑based business, you will be the primary point of contact for all financial accounting activities and will help shape the finance function as the company scales.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of six finance professionals on a day‑to‑day basis.
• Oversee the complete financial accounting process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership and global stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insight and support decision‑making.
• Maintain robust internal controls and systematic procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.

Required profile

• 7‑8 years of experience in a senior finance or accounting role.
• Strong technical aptitude with a systematic, detail‑oriented approach.
• Proven leadership and people‑development capabilities.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• High level of IT literacy and analytical capability.
