Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will support the Head of Finance for Trapeze Group ANZ and lead a small, high‑performing finance team. Based in Brisbane, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, strong controls, compliant payroll and statutory reporting, and effective cash management across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all finance functions for Trapeze Group ANZ and, when required, other business units.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly business unit reports, including tax packs, financial analysis, balance‑sheet and income‑statement analytics, and EBITA variance analysis.
• Review and sign‑off balance‑sheet reconciliations in BlackLine, ensuring all variations are investigated and resolved.
• Process intercompany charges, payments and reconciliations; manage fixed‑asset reviews and write‑offs.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasts, cash distributions and act as a bank signing authority in Australia.
• Lead payroll processes, including fortnightly payroll, ad‑hoc payments, terminations, and ensure compliance with payroll tax, workers compensation, superannuation, BAS and FBT returns.
• Maintain compliance with internal policies and legislative requirements, supporting audit activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in finance leadership, preferably within a technology or transport‑related environment.
• Strong analytical abilities with a focus on accurate financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Excellent knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and statutory reporting requirements.
• Ability to manage cash flow, intercompany transactions and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with finance leaders, business stakeholders, auditors and internal teams.
