Financial Controller

About the role

Our fast‑growing drinks business is looking for a hands‑on Financial Controller to own the finance function end‑to‑end. You will be the trusted partner for the leadership team, providing accurate cashflow forecasts, timely reporting and strong financial discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a rolling 13‑week cashflow forecast that is accurate and reliable.
• Manage debtor finance facilities, including drawdowns, limits and lender relationships.
• Develop payables strategy aligned with cash priorities and supplier/ATO arrangements.
• Oversee month‑end close, management accounts and board‑ready reporting.
• Ensure compliance with BAS, GST, payroll tax and coordinate year‑end audit activities.
• Strengthen controls and data integrity within Xero, scaling processes as the business grows.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and provide margin/pricing insights.
• Supervise the Finance Officer in daily transaction processing.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified.
• 8+ years of finance experience, including senior controller or finance leadership in an SME.
• Background in manufacturing, FMCG or inventory‑based businesses preferred.
• Self‑sufficient with the ability to run the function independently.
• Strong commercial mindset and comfortable challenging leadership with data.

Required skills

• Xero accounting software.
