Financial Controller

About the role

Fisher & Paykel is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its Australian finance team. Reporting to the CFO, you will act as a trusted business partner, driving financial performance, managing cashflow, and ensuring compliance across the appliance distribution business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end financial accounting, taxation and compliance for the Australian operation.
• Drive the monthly financial reporting process, guaranteeing accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage cashflow forecasting, including USD forecasts in collaboration with Group Treasury.
• Oversee GST, FBT, Income Tax returns, transfer pricing and all local tax matters.
• Coordinate the annual financial audit and maintain relationships with external auditors.
• Provide financial insights and partner with senior leaders on strategic decisions.
• Supervise Accounts Payable, ensuring strong internal controls and efficient vendor management.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of six direct reports.

Required profile

• 7‑10+ years of experience in a senior financial leadership role.
• Commercial accounting experience in a corporate head office or multinational environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications (Business, Accounting, Economics, Commerce) and CA qualification or equivalent.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex financial information clearly.
