Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a highly capable and commercially‑minded Financial Controller to lead the finance function of Cooinda Lodge Kakadu. Reporting to the General Manager, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, drive profitability and support strategic decision‑making for this unique resort in the heart of Kakadu National Park.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the General Manager and hotel leadership to support financial strategy, performance and decision‑making.
• Deliver accurate weekly, monthly and annual financial reports to Accor and ownership groups.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and financial planning processes.
• Oversee payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance and alignment with legislative requirements.
• Provide financial guidance on Management Agreements, Owners Corporation matters and HMA compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, controls, policies and reporting processes.
• Support department heads with financial analysis, reporting and commercial insights to improve profitability.
• Ensure compliance with Accor financial policies, WH&S obligations and all relevant statutory and legislative requirements.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualified.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, compliance obligations and statutory reporting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting and payroll systems, preferably Sunsystems, PurchasePlus and OperaCloud.
• High attention to detail and a strong commercial mindset.
