Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to lead all financial operations for an established aged‑care provider in Sydney. Reporting to the CFO, you will ensure accurate, timely reporting to support strategic and operational decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, including management accounts and board reporting.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts in partnership with operational leads.
• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity.
• Ensure compliance with ACFI/AN‑ACC funding, NDIS and aged‑care regulatory reporting requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and government bodies as required.
• Drive process improvements and implement robust internal controls.
• Mentor and develop a small finance team.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent) with 5+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance management role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of AASB standards and tax compliance.
• Exposure to the aged‑care, health or community services sector is highly regarded.
• Excellent communication skills to translate financial information for non‑finance stakeholders.
